Laptop screen replacement cost in Kerala (2026 rates)
Cracked your laptop screen? Here's what replacement actually costs in Kerala — by laptop type, by parts source, and what to watch out for.
If you've cracked your laptop screen, the only useful question is: what will it cost to fix?
Here are real 2026 prices from our Parthas Lane workshop. We service screens for every major laptop brand in Kerala. These numbers are honest — neither the cheapest nor the most expensive in the market, but what genuine work actually costs.
Standard 14" or 15.6" laptop screens
For HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, Acer business and consumer laptops with standard FHD displays:

Add ₹500-800 for labour. Most replacements take 60-90 minutes.
Genuine OEM panels come from the same factories that made the original — LG, BOE, AUO, Samsung. Identical to what shipped with your laptop. Slightly more expensive, longer life expectancy.
Compatible Grade A panels are panels from those same manufacturers, different product line — same spec, same fit, same connector, same image quality. The difference is factory binning. For general office and personal use, the daily-life difference is undetectable.
For 90% of users, compatible Grade A is the right choice. ₹1,500-3,000 saved with no daily compromise. We use Grade A compatibles by default and offer genuine OEM as an upgrade.
MacBook screen replacement
MacBook screens are a different conversation. Apple sells the screen as a "display assembly" bonded with the lid, hinge, antenna, and front camera — you can't replace just the panel.

Real Kerala market prices for genuine Apple display assemblies through authorised channels. The Apple Service Centre often charges 20-40% more — partly bundled labour and Apple overhead, partly because they sometimes recommend whole-unit swap.
For older Intel MacBook Pros (2018-2020), independent shops can sometimes source panel-only replacements at ₹12,000-18,000. We can do this work but discuss the tradeoffs honestly: shorter warranty on panel alone, and the bonded assembly is harder to refit cleanly.
What affects final cost
Beyond the panel:
Hinge damage. If dropped, hinges might be cracked too. Hinge replacement adds ₹800-1,500. Bezel damage. Plastic frame around the screen sometimes cracks too. ₹400-800. LCD cable damage. The cable through the hinge can fail after repeated stress. ₹600-1,200. Webcam integration. Some modern panels have the webcam bonded — panel replacement includes a new webcam. Anti-glare film. Some business laptops have matte/anti-glare film. Mention this when quoting — different part. Touch digitiser separation. On touchscreens, sometimes only the glass breaks but the LCD is fine. Theoretically you can replace just the digitiser — but labour cost (de-bond, re-bond) usually exceeds the panel-replacement cost.
Service centre vs independent workshop
Authorised service centres are right when your laptop is under manufacturer warranty, you want OEM parts no questions asked, you're not in a hurry (turnaround often 5-15 working days), or repair is covered by accidental damage protection.
Independent workshops (us included) are right when warranty has expired, you need same-day or next-day turnaround, cost matters more than brand exclusivity, or the laptop is older or out of OEM service network.
For a 3-year-old Dell Vostro needing a screen swap, the choice is obvious. For a 6-month-old ThinkPad still under warranty, take it to Lenovo.
Time to repair at Parthas Lane
- Common HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus FHD screens: same day, often within 2-3 hours of walk-in
- Less common laptops: next day, after sourcing from local distributors
- MacBook display assemblies: 2-4 working days (sourced from Bangalore or Chennai)
- Touchscreens and 2K/QHD panels: 1-3 days

Warranty after replacement
We offer 90 days written warranty on every screen replacement. Covers parts and re-fitting if the panel develops issues (dead pixels appearing, backlight failure, image problems). Does not cover further accidental damage — drops, liquid spills, more cracks.
What to do right now
If your laptop screen is cracked or damaged:
- Don't keep using it. Pressure on a cracked LCD spreads damage.
- Don't tape it or apply pressure. The crack worsens.
- Power it down properly — repeated boots stress the connector.

- We'll quote within an hour and tell you when we can have it back.
